Our simulation and modelling services
At Matt Black Systems, we have over 30 years of experience in the simulation and modelling industry, and over the years we
have created many bespoke designs and products for a range of industries. Our engineers have a wide range of capabilities allowing us to design and manufacture a whole host of products with our simulation and modelling techniques.
We commonly produce a number of products including:
- Keyboards
- Knobs
- Instrument panels
- Night vision
- Switches
- Interior lighting
However, we are not bound to a set criteria. You may wish to choose from our defence manufacturing options otherwise we will be happy to work with you to create a bespoke product. If you have a design idea in mind then speak to one of our simulation and modelling team who will be happy to discuss your ideas further and draw up a design for you.
Design
The simulation and modelling team at Matt Black Systems are dedicated to precision and detail when it comes to design. We believe that quality is built into a product right from the initial design stages. We work closely with each and every customer to ensure we design their product exactly the way they envisioned it, while using our own expert knowledge to enhance your product in the best way possible.
During the simulation and modelling design process, we endeavour to provide you with a number of options. We will attempt to identify any potential risks and hurdles we may encounter during the design and manufacture of your product. This will allow you to make a well-informed decision in regards to your simulation and modelling project.
Your design will be created using 3D parametric solid modelling and comprehensive engineering data which creates stunning visuals. We take into consideration a number of factors during the simulation and modelling design process including night vision compatibility, sunlight readability and electro-luminescence.
CNC Machining
At Matt Black Systems, our simulation and modelling uses state-of-the-art CNC machine technology to produce a number of aerospace and defence engineering products. We can machine a variety of materials with short lead times for an efficient and hassle-free process.
Our simulation and modelling process uses sophisticated software that enables us to convert 2D and 3D CAD files for CNC machining. We have a fast turnaround and can mass produce product orders while still maintaining a high level of quality and keeping costs low. One of the best things about this technology is that it allows us to make tweaks and changes along the way so that we can be sure to create a product that fits your specifications exactly.
Laser cutting and marking
Our laser cutting or marking machines which are controlled by high-powered computers for ultimate precision can also be used when carrying out simulation and modelling projects. We do not use any ink in our lasers, making this not only cheaper for our customers, but also have a lower impact on the environment. We use our laser marking on any type of simulation and modelling project; no matter how big or small.
Electronic assembly and testing
Part of our simulation and modelling process is a build to print (BTP) service. We manufacture a range of electronic assemblies from simple electronics to complex lighting. All of our simulation and modelling engineers carry out a rigorous quality control process before signing off on the project. We ensure that all of our simulation and modelling adheres to BS EN ISO 900I: 2008 standards. Our in-house testing facilities ensure we get things right first time and produce prompt results.
Spraying and coating
Our simulation and modelling workshop has a full spraying and coating facility in which we work on a number of products of all shapes and sizes. Our walk-in drying and extraction rooms allow for the highest quality professional finish every time. Our spraying services include:
- Component hand spraying
- Wet spray and stove enamelling
- Two pack paint
- Cellulose paint
- Plastic, metals and other materials spray finishing
The best thing about the paint we use for our simulation and modelling projects is that it can be applied to almost any product or material. Each of our spraying and coating jobs is done to custom-order with a wide range of colours and effects.
